It's well documented that "stress" can be tied back as the root cause of a very high number of doctor visits each year.  A common figure I hear is upwards of 75%!  I was shocked and amazed the first time I read that statistic, but the more I thought about it, the more it made sense.

Stress can be both a good thing and a bad thing.  We need some stress in our lives, but "moderation" is the key.  With the world we live in today, far to many people get far too much stress in their lives.  Look around...it doesn't take long to find it.

Often times stress can't be eliminated, but the good news is that we still can control it.  And it's not always necessary to use drugs to control it either.  Some of the more popular ways to combat stress are through exercise, (walking - running - weights, etc), yoga, meditation, Tai Chi, Qigong & of course, self hypnosis.  All of these activities are helpful.  One of the advantages of self hypnosis is that it can be practiced pretty much anywhere and anytime.  I associate hypnosis and meditation quite often, but they are two different forms of stress relief.
